Rush Baskets Evening Class
3 consecutive Thursdays: 8/15/22 March 2018
Cost £140 (includes materials)
Join us for three evenings of weaving as spring begins and the creative juices start flowing again…and make one or two small baskets.
We’ll be using English rush, which is a delightful material to work with. It’s a native plant with a long history of use in basket making. It’s gentle on the hands, easy to weave with and amazingly versatile – so many different basketry items can be created with it. If you’re a beginner, this is a particularly good plant to start weaving with.
With three sessions there’s time for you to get stuck into the weaving and enjoy the rhythm of it (and gain some proficiency if you’re new). If you have previous experience you’ll be able to develop and consolidate your existing skills.
Spaces are limited to 10 participants to ensure individual attention. Advance booking is essential. Suitable for all levels, no previous experience is needed.
Ruby – I wanted to thank you again for the lovely basket workshop. It was so relaxed yet focused, clear modelling with space to crack on and explore with your supportive skills and knowledge on tap. Richard S.
The venue: AS Apothecary is an inspiring and vibrant place, humming with creativity. We’ll be weaving in the shop itself, a beautiful space. You’ll be welcomed with some light refreshments, which are included in the price of the course. So we’ll have a mellow and enjoyable time.
Please note: bookings for this course are being taken through the venue itself.
