Bramble Baskets Evening Class
A course of 2 consecutive evenings: 7&8 November 2018
Cost £90 (includes materials)
Join us for two consecutive, cosy evenings of basket weaving as winter draws in, to make a small (non-prickly) bramble basket to take home with you.
It’s great to turn a (generally) un-liked plant into something beautiful and useful. You’ll learn about harvesting and processing bramble, and you’ll be guided through all stages of the making process to help you have a good understanding of the techniques involved. Perfect for storing eggs, garlic and that kind of thing in your kitchen, and for lots of other uses too. You’ll see those pesky brambles in a whole new light.
We’ll be using locally foraged wild bramble, and you’ll learn how, when and where to harvest and prep them for weaving.
This workshop runs over two consecutive evenings, to give you enough time to complete your basket (regretfully, it’s not possible to book for only one of the evenings)
Suitable for all levels, including beginners (age 16 upwards welcome).
Spaces are limited to 10 participants to ensure individual attention. Advance booking is essential.
Ruby – I wanted to thank you again for the lovely basket workshop. It was so relaxed yet focused, clear modelling with space to crack on and explore with your supportive skills and knowledge on tap. Richard S.
The venue: AS Apothecary is an inspiring and vibrant place, humming with creativity. We’ll be weaving in the shop itself, a beautiful space. You’ll be welcomed with some light refreshments, which are included in the price of the course. So we’ll have a mellow and enjoyable time.
Please note: bookings for this course are being taken through the venue itself.
